Terms, refunds, privacy and contact
Mapped makes 3D-printed relief maps of places people love: we print, frame and ship them, or you print them yourself from our maker. Mapped is made by Phi and Me LLC, in Washington State. Here is how it works, in plain words.
Terms
Not for navigation. Our maps and files are decorative. They are drawn from public map and elevation data, with the land’s height exaggerated so it reads, and are not current, complete or accurate enough to navigate by, on land, at sea or in the air.
Map data. Terrain and sea floor come from public elevation data, streets, rivers and lakes from the US Census Bureau, peak names from OpenStreetMap, and aviation charts from the FAA. Mapped is independent, not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them, Bambu Lab or any printer maker.
Your print files (personal use). When you buy a file, you may print it as many times as you like for yourself and to give as gifts. Please don’t resell the files or prints made from them. To sell prints, join Mapped Pro.
Mapped Pro. Pro is a membership, $29 a month, billed by Stripe until you cancel; you can cancel anytime from your billing page, and the membership runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for. While you’re a member, you may download the print file for any design you make on Mapped and sell physical prints of those designs. After your membership ends, you have 30 days to sell pieces you printed while you were a member. You may not sell, share or publish the print files themselves. Each piece you sell must carry “Not for navigation” and the data credits, and you may not suggest that any data provider, Bambu Lab or any other maker endorses you. Members may apply to make customer orders for us as Mapped Makers; that work is covered by a separate Maker agreement.
Printing. Results depend on your printer, filament and settings. The app checks that your design fits your printer and gives step-by-step instructions, but we can’t guarantee every printer or slicer version.
Prices and tax. Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Changes. We may update these terms. The version on this page applies to new purchases.
Refunds
Print files. If a file you bought won’t open in your slicer or won’t print as described, contact us within 14 days. We’ll fix it or refund you in full.
Framed and printed products. Before we print, we email you a proof: a picture of your map exactly as it will print. Ask for changes, or tell us it looks right. If you don’t love the proof, tell us before you approve it and we’ll refund you in full. Once approved, each piece is made to order for you, so we can’t take returns for a change of mind. If it arrives damaged or isn’t what you approved, contact us within 14 days with a photo and we’ll replace it or refund you.
Privacy
Your design settings are saved in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off, and in your account if you sign in. When you buy, we keep the design and your email address so you can download your file again, or so we can send your proof and ship your piece (with the shipping address you give at checkout), and Stripe handles your payment and billing details. Pro members: we keep your membership status, license ID and shop name. If you contact us, we keep your message to reply to it.
We don’t sell your information, show ads or use advertising trackers. The map loads chart and map tiles from the FAA, map providers and public elevation servers, which see standard web requests like any website you visit.
